First Extreme Cold Alert of the season

Toronto, ON - The City of Toronto has issued its first Extreme Cold Alert. Although it is now dropped, extra services for the homeless are still ongoing.

Markham, ON - Temperature was freezing cold last night and this morning. While the temperature is still 3 C off to break the 18 year old record, at Markham Weather Centre (the weather station hosted by Nicholas), the temperature was recorded -13 C at around 6:45 am EST. just break the 18 year old record by 1 degree. The cold spell was "donated" by the departed Alberta Clipper, which had also dumped 7 cm of snow in Markham. Tomorrow, however, temperatures are warming up slightly due to a returning flow of high pressure. It will not be completely warm up to the seasonal level at least until Sunday.
