Deep Freeze Prairies, and might possibly invade the east

Saskatoon, SK - The cold front from the departing Alberta Clipper had dragged significantly colder air into the Prairies. Temperature has been recorded negative double digits across the Prairies. Saskatoon recorded a low so far at -23 C, with the gusty 20km/h or so northerly winds, wind chill values are down to negative thirties, and even forties in some cases. We are expecting a further cool down tonight, with overnight lows in Saskatoon can dip to - 26 C, or a wind chill value of -40 C.

Though this kind of frigid weather would at least improve a bit. An incoming Alberta Clipper from the south will bring southerly winds tomorrow, will bring some snowfall, some warmer temperatures (though still way below seasonal level). We are expecting a daily high of -15 C in Saskatoon after the passage of this system, a much warmer temperature than today's -23 C.

This freezing weather also invaded much of Central United States. They expect a nighttime low close to -10 C.

Markham, ON - This powerful arctic air mass will surge towards Ontario towards tomorrow, but its effect will be seen tonight. With this cold air plunging through, temperature will dip close to 0 C, and the rain that is falling now could turn to snow. Upwards to 5 cm could be expected in the GTA, while none in Windsor. But to the north, in towns such as Barrie, lake effect snow could kick in, supplying them over 10 cm of snow.

However, temperature are not going to drop drastically tomorrow with a high of 0 C in Markham. Instead, temperatures are expect to further drop to the -3 C range towards the weekend.
