Markham, ON - A system with its centre now just south of Winnipeg, Manitoba, that had brought heavy and persistant snow, freezing rain, and light rain to the Prairies and had led Environment Canada issuing Freezing Rain and Snowfall Warning, well, the system is now moving its way out of the Prairies and finally affecting Ontario. Ahead of the system, the warm front is going to bring us around 2 to 4 millmetres of light rain showers. According to current weather data, the rain should stop right around the morning commute. With the warm front just pass through most of Ontario tonight, warm air from all the way down to Gulf of Mexico will start blowing in. And guess what? Warm air aloft is invading. Tomorrow afternoon, as the cloud remnants from the warm front clears, the sun is going to show up (not completely... and of course, there will be still some clouds hovering). Combined energy from the warm front and the sun, Ontario is going to become incredibly warm (at least seasonally-wise). Daytime high may rise up to 16 in Windsor, Ontario, to 9 in Gatineau, Québec. So enjoy your day tomorrow, and maybe Wednesday (depends on when the cold front will swing through)... If the cold front swings through on Thursday, Wednesday could just be as mild, or even milder. If the cold front swings through late, Wednesday's high in Windsor could hit 17, while in Ottawa-Gatineau, it could hit 11. It looks like as if the cold front is swinging through late Wednesday, and for the GTA, we could see some initial rain, then on Thursday, precipitation may get nasty and change into a mix precipitation (i.e. Wet Snow) before the precipitation ends. When it ends, the northwest cold winds will definitely bring the temperature down to an overnight low of -5, and with that, we could see some lake effect snow (I will cover that later in my blog). Down to the south in Windsor, we will see all rain and no snow. Up to Ottawa-Gatineau, we could see some accumulation of snow before the end of this. Tricky weather in here, so stayed tuned!
